Located in the Northeast of Italy in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Schiopetto has been crafting top tier white wines for over 40 years. The story of Schiopetto began in 1965 when Mario Schiopetto rented a property in the hills of Capriva del Friuli. The first vineyards were planted in 1954 with Friulano vines, and it was from these grapes that Mario produced the first varietal wine in the area. His philosophy was not to reinvent tradition, but rather to understand the land, the climate, the character of the hills, and the cycles of nature. The contribution Mario Schiopetto made to the Friuli region, and Italian white wine in general is immeasurable. His pursuit of excellence and forward-thinking nature are what gave Schiopetto wines their bold flavour and unbelievable balance.

Bright straw yellow, with gold-greenish reflexes.
Outstanding nose, with intense aromas of pear and apricot with a hint of almond; further aromas of wildflowers add complexity.
The palate is full-bodied and dynamic with considerable texture. Flavours of apricot, honey and a subtle nutty character.
Pair with lemon-baked tilapia, cobb salad, or shrimp scampi.
A traditional characteristic wine with a strong personality, obtained purely from Tocai Friulano grapes, historic varietal from Collio of Gorizia, planted in a well ventilated hill area where the soil is mainly clay and limestone with origins from the eocenic era. The grapes are all picked by hand, pressed in a soft press after which there follows a brief period of decantation in total absence of sulphur dioxide. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks under a controlled temperature. The ageing takes place on the lees for 8 months.
“Golden-tinged yellow. Intense nose of white stone fruit, lime cordial, green fig and aromatic herbs. Fresh, juicy and precise, with lovely clarity and cut to the pure stone fruit and citrus flavors. Finishes long and tactile with noteworthy depth and complexity. A wine that would have made Mario Schiopetto proud. Lovely balance: the label sports 14% alcohol but tastes like if it has fewer octanes than that.”
"A wine with gorgeous fruit such as peaches in addition to spices and minerals. Very aromatic. Medium-to full-bodied, very spicy and very intense. Powerful and rich. Almost burns with spiciness. Dense center palate. Great finish. Superb wine. Savory."
