Light yellow.
Nose of white blossoms and fresh fruit with hints of papaya.
Palate is a nuance of lemon custard with bright apple notes.
Pairs well with seafood such as stuffed mussels, oysters, shrimps, and scallops, as well as fish, vegetables, paella and pasta.
Ideally suited to the poor soils and harsh environment in the Appellation of Rueda, the vineyards of Verdejo are located in the west of Segovia, and planted in very sandy soils covered with alluvial pebbles. The vines produce the finest grapes possible in this region resulting in especially elegant, quality white wines.

Top 50 Value Picks "Rueda is now a staple and very popular selection for white wine from Spain. Here the verdejo grape is used to make fresh yet rich wines with tropical fruit tones to pineapple and lemon fruit with sweet herbal notes. This is a good example with some banana notes added to the aroma profile. The palate is very smooth with a lovely creamy texture and flavourful with good focus and very good length. Chill and enjoy with rich seafood, veal or pork dishes. Last tasted July 2020."

"Good value in a vegan friendly Rueda. It has a quite soft, pleasant well integrated nose of pineapple, some hay and subtle fresh herbs. It is medium bodied, smooth and almost creamy with moderate acidity and alcohol at 13.5% bolstering the balance. The length is very good. Nice sense of ripeness and richness yet still restrained. But certainly on the softer side for this region. Tasted July 2020"

"Robust, creamy, rustic. Adorned in yet another Gil Family Estate's stunning labels, this Verdejo shows aromas of peaches and yellow apples, lemons and straw flowers with strong undertones of barnyard. It has effusive citrus in the mouth with layers of wild herbs. Creamy in weight, it is a robust and straightforward white with rustic tendencies."

"(made in stainless steel tanks) Light bright yellow. Aromas of ripe orange, white peach and honeydew melon carry chalky mineral and floral accents. Smooth and expansive on the palate, offering plump citrus and pit fruit flavors and an exotic touch of pineapple. Very fruity and nicely concentrated, displaying good clarity and lingering floral and mineral notes. This wine delivers outstanding value for Rueda."

"Light yellow. Fresh citrus fruits and melon on the fruity nose and in the mouth. A floral note comes up with aeration, along with a hint of candied ginger. Finishes clean and tangy, with good clarity and length and repeating spiciness. This nervy wine would drink well by itself or with light seafood and vegetable dishes."
